Sausages
The Food Quality Observatory analyzed the market for sausages available in Quebec in 2019 and 2024. Here are a few tips based on its analysis:
- Between 2019 and 2024, the saturated fat content in sausages produced in Quebec increased more sharply than in those produced outside Quebec.
- Sausages produced in Quebec contain 19% less sodium than those produced elsewhere.
- In 2024, 93% of products would have been considered too high in sodium and/or saturated fat and would have been required to display Health Canada’s front-of-package nutrition symbol.
